Book  is about finish , here is another glimpse  of a page, it has been fun painting these beautiful dogs, will let everyone know when it gets publish , my daughter-in-law is exited,being a Child care director, she always wanted to write  a children book  with a good message.
My next venture is almost here, just hope I don't get a cold, just felt a sneeze, allergy season? oh no!

Morning sketch

Just a sketch, I was testing my colors this morning early , I prepared a small cigar box with some pastels to take on my trip ,I am trying to go minimalist , believe me that is hard for me !
I will take watercolor also, and hope to journal a little.  Another beautiful day today ,all my  flowers came out in one day ,hope we don't get frost next week .

tomorrow I am also hanging a show at the Jeanne d'Arc credit union in Lowell .

We had a great St Patrick day week end with family, two boiled dinners, good thing I love them!
also surprised my husband with two tickets to Ireland in a week, a last minute deal on line I couldn't pass, so I am packing the paints for me ,Tim who loves to search family history will be enjoying the Irish tails with some distant relatives, it's an overdo trip we were supposed to take two years ago. We have been there many times and know the area well. so we are exited !

After winter

I started the day by cleaning and attacking the taxes,but after going outside and feeling this beautiful warm air and sun, I packed the pastel box and went out painting, just drove a couple miles to see this little stream in Hollis NH, the farmer had just cleared the bushes out of it, the old corn field was still showing ,that was the spot! it sure felt good being in Plein air painting.

commission project

 A custumer who is redecorating has asked me to paint something for her new living room , this is a 6x12 ,the actual painting will be 20x40 , I am doing a few small ones before I work on the larger one, this is her vision of  a pasture wildflowers, farm house etc.. by next week I should know what exact scene I will be doing . Also working on illustrating a children book ,so my days are pretty busy these days .

I painted this rooster for a local auction to raise money for the art center in Chelmsford MA. You know artists always get ask to do this, this month alone I was asked for four different donations , I will do some but not all, artists have to make money also. Thank God I love doing what I do !
Tomorrow I will be gallery sitting at the loading dock gallery , if you are in the area ,stop by it's a beautiful place .

I have talked about Pierre before, He was the first rooster I raised  from a chick , I never get tired of painting him ,so Pierre lives on in my  work, I have painted him in every style and medium .
I am working on a commission right now for someone who wants a large painting ,so for the lack of time I have been painting these miniatures .

 I had a busy week end with open studios,lots of people came to visit, it was a rainy day I was not expecting  that, so it was great! I wanted to demo during the day, but I found myself talking so much to visitors that the day went so fast to even get started .

 I painted this little one today while getting ready for open house tomorrow at the studio, the forecast is for a rainy day, what better time to come and spend a day visiting  all the artists.
 The open studios starts at noon to 5pm , if you are in the area come by and visit.
